20 years of the "KiKu Rappelkiste" daycare center – anniversary celebration a complete success despite rain showers
Regensburg. Under the motto "A journey around the world", where the interactive stations were assigned to the continents, our daycare center "KiKu Rappelkiste" in Regensburg (soon to be: kitea Regensburg BKH) celebrated its 20th anniversary.
“Twenty years of Rappelkiste – that means twenty years full of children’s laughter, curiosity, development, and shared experiences. During this time, many children have taken their first steps with us, made friends, and discovered a part of the world for themselves. It fills us with great joy and gratitude to be a part of this journey,” said the center’s director, Jana Schart, in her welcoming address. Markus Kraft (site manager) congratulated her on the 20th anniversary of the daycare center and presented her with a bouquet of flowers and a gift certificate for the center on behalf of the sponsoring organization.
The weather wasn't initially on our side: it rained until the early afternoon. However, thanks to thorough preparation and the great flexibility of everyone involved, we were able to react quickly. Most of the planned activities were simply moved indoors. In addition, many parents provided invaluable support in setting up five pavilions, allowing us to offer activities outdoors as well. Just in time for the start of the festival, the weather finally improved – apart from a bit of drizzle, it remained dry.
This allowed children and families to participate in everything, from the treasure hunt and duck fishing; they could also be creative, have their faces painted, try out the sensory boxes, talk to each other and enjoy a varied afternoon.
A colorful buffet, lovingly prepared by the families, provided refreshments. The daycare center supplemented this with a commemorative pretzel, cake, and drinks.
We were especially delighted by the visit of Renate Sieber, who originally opened the facility and managed it for many years. The current director, Jana Schart, thanked her team, the parents, all supporters, and former staff members: "Each and every one of you has left your mark and contributed to making our facility what it is today. I am particularly proud that the Rappelkiste has maintained its family-like atmosphere over all these years. That children here are not simply cared for, but truly seen. That parents can find someone to talk to. And that staff members perform their work with passion and conviction."
The fantastic support from the families, the dedication of the team, and the joyful atmosphere made the day a complete success. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who celebrated with us and helped out!
